Crabbing (or Gillying, as it's often referred to in Norfolk) is a favourite family pastime, especially in the summer months. Popular spots for crabbing include Cromer Pier, Blakeney Quayside and Wells Harbour. To avoid the crowds though, wander up to The Five Bridges on Stiffkey Marshes, or bagsy a pontoon at Morston Quay - you'll still catch loads of the critters in more peaceful surroundings. Crabbing lines are cheap and there are usually some knocking around the cottage, if not, Stiffkey Stores and many shops in Wells sell them. Bacon is the killer bait.
